The City shall prepare an ordinance to establish requirements for the installation of state-of-the-art internal telecommunications technologies in new planned developments and office and commercial developments.

In 2019, the City adopted a Dig-Once Ordinance and Policy that require public right-of-way excavation projects to have a trench length of at least 300 feet to install conduit for utilities, including communications.  For more information, contact the Public Works Engineering Division at 510-583-4730.
